Update for a more recent version: "GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600) of 2008-08-01 on LENNART-69DE564" Progress: Some of the frame parameters that were incorrect in the first frame now appear OK. Similarly for my custom *Completions* frame, *Help* frame, and special-display frames - they all generally look OK now. Thanks for fixing this. However, although the frames generally look OK now, there are still multiple occurrences of the same frame parameters in `frame-parameters' - see attached files, which show the value of (frame-parameters). In addition, the fringe parameters are still wrong for the first frame: Fringe appears in the first frame (it should not), but not in subsequent frames (as it should not. This is my `default-frame-alist' (see oneonone.el): ((foreground-color . "Black") (background-color . "LightBlue") (font . "-*-Lucida Console-normal-r-*-*-14-112-96-96-c-*-iso8859-1") (mouse-color . "Red") (cursor-color . "Red") (cursor-type . bar) (menu-bar-lines . 1) (top . 0) (left . 0) (width . 80) (height . 35) (minibuffer) (user-position . t) (vertical-scroll-bars . right) (icon-type) (left-fringe . 0) (right-fringe . 0) (fringe . 0) (menu-bar-lines . 1) (tool-bar-lines . 0)) The attached files show the actual frame parameters for the first frame and subsequent (non-special) frames. Note: By "first frame", I mean the first frame other than my standalone minibuffer frame. In this case, the first frame shows Dired. I then used `C-x 5 d' to get the second frame. Thx - Drew P.S. Although things are generally better now than for the 7/26 build, there is regression in the display of fonts for both tabbar.el tabs and About Emacs screen. I filed separate bugs for those problems, but the same startup files are involved: hexrgb.el and oneonone.el. [Also, I still see the problem that a frame's text will often become blanked out partially or completely and remain that way. I must select the frame and do `C-l' to get the text back. I assume that this is a general problem that has already been reported.] > From: Drew Adams Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2008 8:28 AM > You can use the attached code to repro the problem. > See initial bug report for symptom details. > > emacs -Q --debug-init -l ".../path/to/hexrgb.el" -l > ".../path/to/oneonone.el" -f > "1on1-emacs"
