Message-ID: <000d01c7d7a1$2e2176c0$0201a8c0@epaul.myfqdn.de> (raw)
I downloaded the Emacs+AucTeX-Bundle from
http://www.gnu.org/software/auctex/download-for-windows.html,
unzipped it (to m:\Programme\Emacs, if that matters),
and executed runemacs.exe, as indicated in RELEASE-2007-07-07.txt.
I got a windows error message, titled "Emacs",
saying
"Diese Anwendung wird aufgrund eines ungültigen
Vorgangs geschlossen.
Wenden Sie sich an den Hersteller, falls das
Problem weiter besteht."
(My translation: "This application will be closed
due to an invalid operation.
Please contact the producer if the problem persists.")
The "Details" button gives the following information:
---

This is reproductible, the numbers only differ in EBX (de8, db0, e18, ...)
and FS.
The same symptoms are obervable starting emacs.exe without
parameters/options (but you get a black DOS-box).
"emacs -nw" (in a DOS box) works (but is not as comfortable,
and some typed characters don't appear - may be a problem of
the console window). I used this to produce the bug report.
I use Windows 95, is this isn't clear from
the following automatically generated text.
