In Mac OS X (10.2.8), from command line when I type emacs, I get the
following error message :
File error : "Cannot open load file" , "font-core"
In my .emacs file there is the line :
'(global-font-lock-mode t nil (font-core))
Any suggestions on fixing the error ?

I can't think of what the use of such a line would be, but as you don't
give the context it is difficult to access. Maybe it is a misspelled
autoload.
