Hi!
I'm running Gnus v5.13 in GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (i486-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+
Version 2.12.9) of 2008-03-19 on vernadsky, modified by Debian.
My problem is that I have to interactively call gnus-demon-init every
time I start/restart Gnus. The call to gnus-demon-init in my .emacs
is useless.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you try putting it in your .gnus.el file?

No problem. For reference, all Gnus stuff should go in .gnus.el because
then it will be loaded when you do M-x gnus

Apart from the Gnus stuff that needs to be set before ~/.gnus.el is
read. :-|
