Subject: pure-GTK interface is unsupported
Date: Wed, 24 Apr 2024 18:14:38 -0400	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <v0c08h$gf4$1@ciao.gmane.io> (raw)

Fedora 40 through vnc, emacs 29.3

"You are trying to run Emacs configured with the "pure-GTK" interface
under the X Window System. That configuration is unsupported and will
lead to sporadic crashes during transfer of large selection data. It
will also lead to various problems with keyboard input. Install
emacs-gtk+x11 or emacs-ludid package."

Both of those are already installed. This supposedly has to do with an
x11/wayland issue.

It works when not over vnc. Over vnc

	XDG_SESSION_TYPE=tty

The obvious first issue that the usual fonts cannot be selected. emacs
seems to have its own list.
