Hi,
I use Klipper v0.9.5(KDE 3.1.1) and GNU Emacs 21.2.1.
Trying to paste text with spacial characters like

    "ÄÖÜ"

from Klipper into Emacs results in:

    "^[%/1\200\216iso8859-15^BÄÖÜ"

I set the mule language environment to "german".
Interestingly enough, it works the other way round, pasting text copied
from emacs to other applicatios.
Does anyone know how to handle this?

Thanks,
	Henning

This encoding is called ``extended segments''. Upgrade to Emacs 21.3,
which has an optional support for it (etc/NEWS explains how to set
that up).

Btw, Klipper is generally bad: there are entries about that in
etc/PROBLEMS. So perhaps you shouldn't use it at all...
