Have made a mistake, the program is actually "fldiff".

That software is not related to Emacs, isn't it?

Anyway, a quick web search seems to indicate that the project stopped
development a long time ago.

If you are a GNU/Linux user, try reporting the bug to your distribution,
then maybe someone will fix it.

It is not.

I hoped it was related to Gnu in some way.

Alternatively, try Meld if Ediff is not your cup of tea.

Have tried meld as it is currently being maintained.  Work on fldiff stopped in 2006.
It has the same problem as many developers do not care or are aware or accessible
highlighting using the contrast ratio.
