Subject: Ivy and completing-read with initial-input

I am using ivy. Calling an interactive function with a completing-read clause
that uses initial-input, the minibuffer shows the value of initial-input, but
gives the impression that there is a single option available for selection,
rather than a list of possibilities. Using icomplete-vertical gives a more
suggestive indication of the list of possibilities.

Is there any possibility for improving the capability of behaviour or display
to the user in the case mentioned?
