Hear, hear. (Well, mutatis mutandis for Linux and OS X...)
I guess the only solution would be to place the contents of the
clipboard into the kill ring each time a kill inside Emacs is made. So a
kill would result in *two* additions to the kill ring: the external
clipboard and the text being killed. I suspect that would get annoying
real soon...
Alternatively (at least under Linux), you could (write and) run an X
server within Emacs, which would allow you to use the kill ring directly
as clipboard. (Does XWEM do this, by any chance? ;-)
