Well, thanks for the opinion. I can only repeat, the window system tag _is_ the capability in this case. No other test has any relevance. Why this possibility should disturb you so much, I don't know. Fwiw I'm well-accustomed to maintaining emacs init files, having done so for a little over 20 years. It's never been much of a burden, and I've yet to see any signs of rot (of course I add/remove things as new versions of emacs make that possible/necessary). -- d f-d
