Hello,
right now I am making the first steps with gnus and now I have a first
question.
I set the newsserver with '(setq gnus-select-method '(nntp
"newssvr20-ext.news.prodigy.com"))' which works fine. But somehow I get
different newsgroups than I have with the same newsserver under opera;
e.g. comp.soft-sys.matlab and sci.physics.computational.fluid-dynamics
are missing with gnus, but exist with opera.
Is there any explanation for that? What do I do wrong?
Thanks!
Greetings
Fabian

I saw now, that with the selected newsserver, I am not able to post
articles to gnu.emacs.gnus.
Which newsserver do I need for that?
Again, Greetings

If you aren't a customer of prodigy.com, you'll most likely not be
allowed to post through it.
You need to ask your system administrator (or ISP) about which
newsserver is provided for you.
There's also the free server <http://news.individual.net/>, but you'll
need to register in advance.

Thanks! I didn't know that before.
