Subject: Auto-save? (y or n) ... Abort (and dump core)? (y or n)
Date: Fri, 16 Sep 2005 23:58:56 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m3psr8hdy7.fsf@tfkp07.physik.uni-erlangen.de> (raw)

I have emacs running on a remote computer and emacs uses an xterm
locally. Every now and then it happens that emacs will hang, i.e.,
it does not accept any input for a couple of seconds. Then the
normal emacs display with window(s), modeline, etc. disappears and I
get a blank xterm with only the following lines displayed

Auto-save? (y or n) y
Abort (and dump core)? (y or n) n
Continuing...

(I type the `y' and `n'.) Afterwards, the normal display with
window(s), modeline, etc. comes up again and I can continue
normally.

What is causing this??

Thanks,

Roland
