Really ? What  do you get, for example  with the euro sign ?  Emacs keeps on
inserting an euro utf symbol...
Would you mind to share your config file ? 

My problem  is that  i can't  get some unicode  chars and  i can't  make osx
accept my unix fonts like unifont.
For example : M-: (insert "\x4912f")  should insert a dot character but only
get a slash. I  would have use some unicode font for  a nice tree display in
Gnus.
