Hi:
I in the compilation buffer when I press RET or C-o (compile-goto-error
or compilation-display-error) the compilation buffer scrolls the
selected candidate to the top.
This applies to all related buffers like grep, or rgrep...
Is there some way to avoid that?
Best,
Ergus

That behavior depends on whether the compilation window has a left
fringe or not (for example, if you run Emacs in a text terminal), and on
the value of the variable compilation-context-lines. You can set that
variable to t to make sure the message never scrolls to the top of the
window.
