IIUC whether it's in `load-path` or not shouldn't make any difference. The only relevant part is whether you give the .el/elc extension to `load` or whether you rely on `load-suffixes` instead. I expect (load "....elc") should *not* native-compile the file, since it would not load it either. Stefan
