As mentioned here in the past, I use C-s by hacking my isearch.el such that it does "incremental goto-line" when the search string is made of digits only. This came about because I originally had goto-line bound to M-g but much too often instictively hit C-s instead of M-g ('cause I was "searching for line N"), so I figured I should "follow my fingers" rather than re-train them.
