hi,
I haven't run gnus for a while and so when I did, somehow my
~/.emacs-mail-crash-box grew to 200MB (I get lots of spam-mails) and I
get "Maximum buffer size exceeded".
Can I compile emacs with support for such large buffers?
thanks a lot,

The max-buffer-size on 32bit machines was increased yesterday in Emacs-CVS
from 128M to 256M. There might be other limitations (some of them within
Emacs) that can still prevent you from opening a 200M file, tho.
I have an additional patch that pushes the limit to 512M, but it hasn't
been accepted/installed yet.

It might be worth mentioning that XEmacs has a maximum buffer size of
about 1GB. If it is installed, it might be easiest to just use XEmacs
once for cleaning up the gnus state, even if one does not make use of
it otherwise.
