He's thinking of something like the mini completion window that pops up right underneath the text you're editing (the only place where I've experienced that first hand is in mozilla where I type the URL). It's like the offspring of a tooltip and a completion buffer. For such functionality I think that x-show-tip is just sufficient. Stefan
