What can be the cause of .emacs not loading anymore? Using DarwinPorts on
OS X I installed emacs, then removed it, installed emacs-devel, removed
that and went back to regular the stable emacs port.
Now my .emacs is not loaded anymore? I'm not sure where to look for clues.

How do you know, that .emacs is not loaded anymore ?
Does .emacs still exist in your home directory ?
Is it the same you expect it to be ?
Did you try to start emacs with the --debug-init option ?
