* wdired -- nifty indeed. BUT "m" --> "*"-mark has NO EFFECT on query-replace

What would be cool with wdired would to be able to "mark"
certain files, and then by a global edit, like a query-replace "!",
to change only *those* files' names.

Unfortunately, query-replace "!" changes ALL of them, marked or not.

Ideas?

Thanks!

David

PS: am using 23.2.1.

Sure:

1) (In Dired) mark all the files you want to rename
2) Press t k
3) Enter WDired and do you query-replace with "!"

Cheers,

THANK YOU!

Thanks for showing me the "t" dired-toggle-marks. It is SO COOL!

Thanks again!

David
