Hi All,

OK, I'm trying doc-view on OS X (10.5.5) CVS 23.0.60.1. I cannot make
the pngs larger on the screen. I've increased both doc-view-resolution,
and doc-view-enlarge seems to increase this and you can see the
resolution increase on the png, but the actual size on the screen
doesn't change.

I increased doc-view-ghostscript-options, but that doesn't change the
appearance either.

Am I missing something, or is this just how things work?

Thanks, Jody

Have you tried this with GNU Emacs launched with -Q? You can make all
your doc-view related changes active from/in *scratch* buffer, or you
put them in a little ELisp file and you load it with -l.

PPC, Tiger, Mac OS X 10.4.11 – doc-view-resolution is 100 (I have
``Xft.dpi: 100´´ in ~/.Xdefaults), doc-view-enlarge (+) works fine.
Do you have enough disk space? The PNG files are put into /tmp. Which
version is your Ghostscript?

Without vi there is only GNU Emacs

Hello,

This may be an issue with the rendering of all images in emacs 23 on
SO X. If I make a 1600x1800 pixel image and open it in emacs 23.0 it
appears about 5cmx5cm on my screen using "image-mode". An 800x900
image is half as large. So maybe there is another way to set dpi in
Carbon emacs? Or I've set something up re-image size incorrectly? I
tried setting display-pixels-per-inch to 96 (it was 72 by default) but
still no change in behaviour or displayed image size.

I went back to 22.3 and the images load fine and a 400x450 image is
about the right size (a little less than 4"x4.25".

Anyway, I submitted a bug report.

Thanks, Jody
