Imagine you create with your preferred version of Emacs using your preferred operating system with its preferred file system one day a file called rückerstattung. The next day, you would like to open this file with Emacs again by typing C-x C-f rü ... either of you would expect Emacs to autocomplete it to rückerstattung, wouldn't you? Regardless of how the ü is saved in the file system ... when you enter ü twice, don't you expect twice the same results?? This newsgroup is still gnu.emacs.HELP ... not alt.religion.emacs or whatever ... Markus
