I don't doubt that, but there could be multiple causes, among them the fact that Beta had initially better image quality (and once you build momentum in some industry, conservation law applies ;-) But at some point, Beta players were not better than VHS players, at least at the home use level. And "technically better" is not only measured by image quality; it's been stated many times that the users preferred longer recording time (which is, after all, another technical parameter). Juanma
