Setting ediff-diff-program however has an effect. I'm sure that I wrote ediff-diff-options correctly, because if I invoke the help on this variable (describe-variable C-h v), I get the correct new content I assigned to this variable and the correct description. Any Ideas? Thank you Flo ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

I don't know how to invoke the customize machinery directly from .emacs, but it appears that the end effect is supposed to be: (ediff-reset-diff-options 'ediff-diff-options "--your-options-here") Does that work? -- Kevin ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

Unfortunately it doesn't. I also tried to use customize variable mechanism. Still nothing happens. However, if -c is within my options, indeed an error message is shown, which is the correct behaviour. Maybe I have to write a small bash script, which calls diff with the correct argument, and whitch's name I put into ediff-diff-program. Flo ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread
