Subject: Is TLS always used when using pops:995, imaps:993 and smtp with encrypted stream on :465?

Message-ID: <e2896f600eda0cfd0a53277cd9957730@posteo.net> (raw)

Hello,

I have Emacs configured with:

'(smtpmail-smtp-service 465)
'(smtpmail-stream-type 'ssl)

Note that the last line is both for SSL and TLS I think. I could force
STARTLS but I read this is less secure than TLS.

I also use Rmail with imaps and pops on port 993 and 995 respectively.
Does my config guarantee that TLS is always used when connecting via
imap, pop an also smtp? Please, let me know!
