hi all

i want to indent parts of code in a php/html-file a bit more then other
parts how can i do that? e.g. how can i indent a region exactly 8 blanks?

the command 'indent-region' indents according to its own calvluations
control by the major mode, not by me. :-(

any ideas?

cheers, leooo

Select the region then
M-x string-rectangle <RET>
<spc><spc><spc><spc><spc><spc><spc><spc> <RET>

string-rectangle is bound to `C-x r t' by default
