Has anyone using emacs on Windows 2000 encountered the following problem.
Can't find it in documentation or faqs.
Download emacs-21.2 (tried fullbin and bin) from gnu.org
expand .tar.gz with djtarnt.exe (also tried WinZip)
OK so far.
runemacs.exe
OK so far
about 8 minutes after starting emacs the program locks
Task manager shows memory growing and
cpu running around 100%
Can anyone help?

You need also call the programm addpm.exe. This adds the
emacs-directory and other variables into the system registry.

This isn't really necessary anymore. If the environment variable HOME is set,
emacs finds everything without problems (May be even without HOME, I
haven't tried.)
