The=20 workaround is to use lu:5 which is not very correct. C-h C-a reports "This is GNU Emacs 23.1.1 (x86_64-suse-linux-gnu, X=20 toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars) of 2010-04-01 on build17" I set the input method using set-input-method 'chinese-tonepy-punct=20 which gives me the mode line indicator =C6=B4=B7=FB. The poor donkey is not as impressive as a gnu, but a useful animal.=20 Why can't he have his lu:2?
