I am (was) defining it this way:
This is major map:
(defvar rcd-db-mode-map
(let ((map (make-sparse-keymap)))
(set-keymap-parent map tabulated-list-mode-map)
(define-key map (kbd "e") #'rcd-db-edit-tab-database-entry)
(define-key map (kbd "d") #'rcd-db-delete-tab-database-entry)
(define-key map (kbd "Q") 'rcd-db-kill-database-buffers)
(define-key map (kbd "U") 'rcd-tabulated-remove-marks)
(define-key map (kbd "u") #'rcd-tabulated-unmark-id)
(define-key map (kbd "G") #'goto-line)
(define-key map (kbd "z") #'rcd-tabulated-refresh)
(define-key map (kbd "j") #'next-line)
(define-key map (kbd "k") #'previous-line)
(define-key map (kbd "m") #'rcd-tabulated-mark-id)
;; (define-key map (kbd "n") #'cf-create-contact)
(define-key map (kbd "V") #'rcd-tabulated-id-to-register)
(define-key map (kbd "/") #'rcd-tabulated-filter)
(define-key map (kbd "\\") #'rcd-tabulated-filter-reset)
map)
"The basic RCD database keymap")
Then next child map would come, where I am (was) using
`make-composed-map'.
But I was probably using `make-composed-keymap' wrongly, and anyway
rcd-db-mode-map is child of it, so I have removed it altogher.
(defvar rcd-db-dbtables-mode-map
(let ((map (make-sparse-keymap)))
(set-keymap-parent
map (make-composed-keymap tabulated-list-mode-map rcd-db-mode-map))
(define-key map (kbd "e") #'ignore)
(define-key map (kbd "d") #'ignore)
(define-key map (kbd "g") #'rcd-tabulated-refresh)
(define-key map (kbd "c") #'rcd-db-table-edit-comment)
(define-key map (kbd "l") #'rcd-db-table-list-by-oid)
map)
"The RCD database tables keymap")
And now it works this way:
(defvar rcd-db-dbtables-mode-map
(let ((map (make-sparse-keymap)))
(set-keymap-parent map rcd-db-mode-map)
(define-key map (kbd "e") #'ignore)
(define-key map (kbd "d") #'ignore)
(define-key map (kbd "g") #'rcd-tabulated-refresh)
(define-key map (kbd "c") #'rcd-db-table-edit-comment)
(define-key map (kbd "l") #'rcd-db-table-list-by-oid)
map)
"The RCD database tables keymap")
