I strongly recommend you get rid of it.
Setting up your LANG envvar (as is already done for you by RedHat IIRC)
is all you should need.

Hi,
I used to turn on iso-accents-mode when I need to type some european
accented letters. It worked well using emacs 21.2.1, but on my new
computer I installed red hat 9 and GNU emacs 21.3.1, and the
iso-accents-mode seems to work differently: for example, 'e gives an é-
but on the **command line**! How can I get this letter in the text buffer?
Note that I have the line:
(standard-display-european 1)
in my .emacs file.
Thanks very much by advance,
Guillaume Blanc
