Hi,
I have problem getting emacs work properly. I have just installed emacs on
my home directory on a FreeBSD host.
I could start up Emacs and couldn't do anything else afterwards.
Here are the errors/warnings:
Warning: arch-dependent data dir (/usr/local/libexec/emacs/21.4/i386-
unknown-freebsd5.4/) does not exist.
Warning: Lisp directory `/usr/local/share/emacs/21.4/site-lisp' does not
exist.
Warning: Lisp directory `/usr/local/share/emacs/21.4/leim' does not exist.
Warning: Lisp directory `/usr/local/share/emacs/21.4/lisp' does not exist.
I was trying to add
~/libexec/emacs/21.4/i386-unknown-freebsd5.4
~/share/emacs/21.4/site-lisp
~/share/emacs/21.4/lisp
~/share/emacs/21.4/leim
but am not sure where and how to do it. Also not sure this would solve my
problem.
Thanks,
Isarin

Did you configure with --prefix=${HOME} or such? This should move the
whole installation into ~/bin, ~/libexec, and ~/share -- and ~/man
and ~/info too!
