hints, tips, pointers about what might be included in .emacs?...
not complete files to copy but individual lines, options with
explanations of what each could do for folks completely unfamiliar with
computers, for complete novices how to setup a .emacs for example for
grandparents unfamiliar with computers.

I think the ultimate resource is http://www.emacswiki.org/
and than also try to look around github as lots of folks are storing
their dot files there.
