Hi,
I have a set of Dejavu fonts in my /usr/share/fonts directory, and Emacs
isn't finding them. For example when I do M-x set-frame-font ?
none of the Dejavu fonts are available. Any idea what I need to do to make
these available with Emacs? I configured it with the flag --with-xft but
still no luck.

Got it. I had to configure with --with-xft --with-x-toolkit=gtk
--without-gsettings
and the fonts show up.

Xft is required, but the rest is not. My Emacs is configured with
--with-x-toolkit=lucid and has no problem with fonts. BTW, the configure
script is expected do detect the presence of Xft, so --with-xft
shouldn't be required either.
