You're wrong: 23.0.50 and 23.0.60 run both in Terminal. And so do the
Carbon Emacsen (/Applications/Carbon\ Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS/Emacs -
nw). Cocoa Emacs.app seems to be able to run in Terminal when on
intel based hardware.
