"make" error : "Cannot open load file: case-table "

i install emacs from cvs , hope to use scim on ubuntu 8.04 hardy; because all the .deb packages i can find can't switch to scim.
so, i can't input chinese.
but i get error when "make" or "make bootstrap".

steps:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/cvsroot/emacs co emacs$ sudo apt-get install build-essential
$ sudo apt-get install xorg-dev
$ sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev
$ sudo apt-get install texinfo
$ sudo apt-get install libjpeg-dev libgif-dev libtiff4-dev

./configure --prefix=/opt/emacs23

make(or make bootstrap)

get error msg:

when i move the emacs dir from /home/eric/工具/emacs/ to /home/eric/, it's well done!!!
so ,i guess the chinese path name makes this error!!!
