Is there a way to determine a function's argument list (or at least
the number of arguments it accepts) at runtime?

See `sub-arity' and `help-function-arglist' (its code).

Thanks!  I kinda wish there was one function that gave the info for C
functions and Lisp functions, but I can piece together what I need to
know from there. :-)
