Hi (again) Emacs-gurus,

Is there a way to send the higlighted region in emacs
to the shell to be acted on? For example, I use:
C-u-M-!
To run sh commands and insert into the emacs buffer.
However, if I want the sh command to act on the region
selected and not a file on the system, is that
possible?

Thanks-
MD

shell-command-on-region is normally bound to M-|.
