* emacs server and inverse search ? @ 2005-08-05 20:16 Mads Jensen 2005-08-05 20:24 ` David Kastrup 0 siblings, 1 reply; 6+ messages in thread From: Mads Jensen @ 2005-08-05 20:16 UTC (permalink / raw) Hi NG, I am wondering why I keep getting this inquiry: "Start Emacs server for inverse search in viewer ? (y or n)", the first time in every session that I want to view a dvi file in auctex. I have (server-start) in my ~/.emacs, so this makes it even more difficult to understand for me. Are there more servers involved ? Try emacs -debug-init It may be that the line with server-start is not reached. -- David Kastrup, Kriemhildstr. 15, 44793 Bochum ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

I just tried doing that, but no messages show up. Maybe I should try putting the server-start line in the top instead. -- Mads Jensen - mail sent to address ends in /dev/null s/spam/madsj for emailing me gpg: 7E775BDA It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread

Though I am not sure, it seems that emacs at least sometimes does not require double -- at the option start. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 6+ messages in thread
