Is there a way to change the font colors in a particular document. For
instance, I have this document called "notes" where I want few lines in
green and few in orange. I use facemenue-set-foreground command to set the
font color. But the color change is only temporary. If I close the file and
reopen it, the color is back to normal i.e. black background and white
fonts.

Use enriched-mode.

I use that but the color changes once I close and reopen the file. That's
the problem.

Thanks. I finally solved the problem.

Strange, it works fine here. When you open the file in another editor/viewer,
does it look something like this:
Content-Type: text/enriched
Text-Width: 78
<x-color>greenThis is green</x-color>
<x-color>orangeThis is orange</x-color>
?
