True! A translator, another interface, is needed to make real use of the Mac OS X fonts, one that understands AAT (Apple Advanced Typography) and another one that can deal with TrueType and OpenType fonts in a more natural way, not going over X11. GNU Emacs 25.x? It is planned to make one of the next GNU Emacs versions a real Unicode savvy application, one that does not need fontsets. That could be the entry point for a new way of font handling too. -- Greetings Pete The human brain operates at only 10% of its capacity. The rest is overhead for the operating system.
