I currently use Visual SlickEdit for several Qt projects, where I use an Emacs emulation. This emulation is not very good, so I was thinking about moving from VSE to Emacs. How would I do that and what extra "IDE"-like modes should I use under Emacs?

Start here, maybe:
http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/EmacsForDevStudioUsers

I don't know anything about slickedit, but as for IDE like functionality
you might consider CEDET

http://cedet.sourceforge.net/

And definitely look at this:

The projects are in C++, right? Then I'd suggest to have a look at
CEDET [1].
