Uh, yes that was unclear. forward-word says The word boundaries are normally determined by the buffer=E2=80=99s= syntax table and character script (according to =E2=80=98char-script-table= =E2=80=99), but =E2=80=98find-word-boundary-function-table=E2=80=99, such as set up= by =E2=80=98subword-mode=E2=80=99, can change that. so obviously it falls back onto the syntax table. --=20 Philip K.
