Hi all.

In Emacs 22, the `scroll-preserve-screen-position' variable used to work fine:
in my ~/.emacs I have it set to `t':

   (setq scroll-preserve-screen-position t)

Now, in Emacs cvs 23.0.91.1 it does not seem to work any more. Why, and how to
work it out?

Thanks for any help
Rodolfo

It does work for me using GNU Emacs 23.1.92.1 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+
Version 2.18.6) of 2010-02-07 on thinkpad.

Don't know. What exactly does not work?

Bye,
Tassilo

I found out that it works also for me _if_ I use the following font:

 -sony-fixed-medium-r-normal--16-120-100-100-c-80-iso8859-1,

so the problem must have something to do with the Emacs font:
`scroll-preserve-screen-position' does not work with the default Emacs font,
but why? I could use the above family font as well, if only I knew how to
enlarge it, on the screen of my new small Acer netbook!

Thanks for any furhter help
Rodolfo
