* Undesired Incoming* files created by Gnus @ 2008-08-23 9:51 Rodolfo Medina 2008-08-23 11:01 ` Thierry Volpiatto 2008-08-23 18:13 ` Reiner Steib 0 siblings, 2 replies; 4+ messages in thread From: Rodolfo Medina @ 2008-08-23 9:51 UTC (permalink / raw) To: help-gnu-emacs I already posted this on gnu.emacs.gnus but got no solution. Every time Gnus fetches a new e-mail message from my Gmail account, a strange file is created in the ~/Mail directory whose name always starts with `Incoming'. I.e.: Incoming3141XpI, Incoming3410dCs, etc. They're always copies of the messages stored in the inbox, that I have to delete manually: it's bothering. Why does this happen, and how can I eliminate it? Thanks for any help Rodolfo ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 4+ messages in thread

Current Gnusae delete those files after a couple of days: ,----[ (info "(gnus)Oort Gnus") ] | * Old intermediate incoming mail files (`Incoming*') are | deleted after a couple of days, not immediately. *Note Mail | Source Customization::. (New in Gnus 5.10.10 / Emacs 22.2) `---- > Why does this happen, and how can I eliminate it? ,----[ (info "(gnus)Mail Source Customization") ] | `mail-source-delete-incoming' | If non-`nil', delete incoming files after handling them. If `t', | delete the files immediately, if `nil', never delete any files. | If a positive number, delete files older than number of days (the | deletion will only happen when receiving new mail). You may also | set `mail-source-delete-incoming' to `nil' and call | `mail-source-delete-old-incoming' from a hook or interactively. | `mail-source-delete-incoming' defaults to `10' in alpha Gnusae | and `2' in released Gnusae. *Note Gnus Development::. `---- BTW, an index search for "Incoming" brings this up immediately.
