Hey all;

(sendmail from local host works, but is it a good solution? I would
actually use it, what are the cons?)

So, I was trying to set up smtpmail, by putting the thing in .emacs:

(setq gnus-select-method '(nntp "netnews.comcast.net"))

(setq user-mail-address "jplsp@web.portal.starts.with.y")
(setq smtpmail-smtp-server "mail.comcast.net")
(setq send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it)
(setq message-send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it)
(setq smtpmail-smtp-service 25)

(setq smtpmail-debug-info t)
(setq smtpmail-debug-verb t)

When I press [send] I have in *Messages*:

Loading message...
Loading mule-util...done
Loading easymenu...done
Loading message...done
Loading mailabbrev...done
Sending...
Loading gnus-msg...done
Loading mail-extr...done
Loading smtpmail...done
Loading mailalias...done
byte-code: Quit

That's me, pressing C-g, because it just hangs. I see no trace of
*trace* buffer, that was promised by debug variable. What's going on?

Thanks :P

Mel
