How can I add a "sleep 1" as a after hook for M-x man, M-x compile, etc.
Otherwise longer man pages and compile jobs get cut too mid-page:
The following unary operators are available: "+", "-".
The following functions are available:
abs(x)
Compute absolute value of x.
acos(x)
Compute a

For M-x compile:
(defun my-compilation-finish-function (buffer msg)
(sleep-for 1))
(setq compilation-finish-function 'my-compilation-finish-function)
Dunno about the other cases, but what you describe looks like a bug. If
you have a reproducible case (preferably starting with emacs -Q) please
do M-x report-emacs-bug.
