I got the new IMAP working, I am not sure if the POP3 + SSL works.

  (nnimap ""
          (nnimap-address "imap.gmail.com")
          (nnimap-stream ssl)
          (nnimap-authinfo-file "~/.authinfo")

IMAP Google works great by the way.
