Bourguignon" writes: > No Smalltalk -> no Lisa. LISA: the "LISA invented silly acronym" computer that Steve Jobs named after his daughter, which he didn't recognize at this moment of strange and misguided affection. LISA was the computer in-between the hackish and social Apple 2 (which Steve Wozniak built), and the posh, pre-chewed, and all-Jobish Macintosh which was supposedly stylish and minimalist (that was true at least with respect to software as there were only MacPaint, MacWord, HyperCard and [Beyond] Dark Caste and a few more programs to run). LISA was much more powerful than the Mac but failed miserably which is why the Apple people put into the LISAs a Mac emulator which made it possible to run Mac software. Then they rebranded LISA "The Mac XL" which in some ways was correct. -- underground experts united http://user.it.uu.se/~embe8573
