When I use C-c C-a (mml-attach-file) in message mode, a placeholder gets
added to the message, something like "< # part ... < # / part>" (minus
the spaces).

If I copy and paste that tag to another message in a different buffer,
will that message also include the attachment when sent?

You could try by sending such a mail to yourself ;-) But I think that
yes it will do. You could also copy that "

[-- Attachment #3: Type: text/plain, Size: 94 bytes --]

" and edit it
to send another file if needed (but C-c C-a might be easier).

Thanks, the test worked. That's good news, otherwise it meant that I
had sent tens of job applications without a CV...

Anyway, maybe we could specify this feature in the manual?

Yes, I always understood it to work like that, when you send
the mail/post it looks for the "placeholder" and if so
attaches the attachment ...
