Hi,
Is there a way to archive diary entries, similar to `C-c C-x C-a' in org-mode?
Thanks,
Francesco

Not in diary-mode, but in agenda views, yes.

I’m not sure I understand, I’m referring to the Calendary/Diary buffer, not
org-mode. In agenda view (`C-a a') I can’t archive at all.

Yes, I confirm you cannot archive from diary-mode nor from the calendar.

Use `$' and check C-h f org-agenda-archive TAB

“org-agenda-archive-with: Archiving works only in Org-mode files”

Is it the only function you get?
What is your version of Org? M-x org-version RET

What do you mean? I just pressed `$' as suggested, which is bound to
`(org-agenda-archive)'.

“Org-mode version 6.33x”

I meant:
"Is org-agenda-archive-with the only function you get when you do
C-h f org-agenda-archive TAB?"
and I think it is.

This is very old and this is not even the version that comes with the
version of Emacs you are apparently using (24.3). Please update Org
or delete old ghost versions that may have precedence.
See http://orgmode.org for details.

Sorry, read too quickly - it is anyway. The functions I have are:
Possible completions are:
org-agenda-archive org-agenda-archive-default
org-agenda-archive-default-with-confirmation
org-agenda-archive-to-archive-sibling org-agenda-archive-with
org-agenda-archives-mode

I haven’t installed any org-mode manually, and I have installed emacs through
debian wheezy repositories. In other words, I’d be surprised if the org-mode I
have is not the one that comes with emacs 24.3... Thanks anyway, I take it that
next versions include that feature.

Well, it turns out that there is an `org-mode' package in debian. I installed
and now `org-version' says “Org-mode version 7.8.11”. However, archiving diary
entries still doesn’t work.

Yes, because as I said, it is not supposed to work, for any version of
org-mode. It does not work in diary-mode, not in calendar-mode. You
can archive Org entries from .org files or agenda views.
If you are new to Emacs and Org in general, I suggest you send your
questions to the emacs-orgmode@gnu.org mailing list.
Best,

OK, then I misunderstood you - I thought you had implied that I can archive
diary entries as well, which was my only goal from the beginning.
